The Papadopoulos family

With a long tradition in the field, which dates back to 1912, the Papadopoulos lokum justly holds the first place in customers choise. In 2001, the business re-introduced itself at a new renovated place at Ionos Dragoumi street, as well as at other points in the city where they started and still remain, up to today.

Lokum from the East

With origins from Pontus, a place that has taught many lessons in gastronomy, the Papadopoulos family moved and settled in Thessaloniki, where they decided to open their first business, specializing in the well-known traditional oriental lokum.

The recipe, which dates back to 1,300 AD, was passed down to the family when Stavros Papadopoulos, four generations ago, transferred the precious knowledge from Pontus, where he had relocated after his persecution from his homeland, with the result that today the art is in the hands of Mr. Giorgos and as it seems...it goes on and on.

Traditional products made with passion

The family's love for sweets, faith in tradition and generosity in pure and quality ingredients, compose the secret recipe for success.
Although the production process has remained the same for four generations, the Papadopoulos family has made sure to keep our interest in traditional sweets undiminished, introducing new flavors and successfully marrying the old ones.
